Re: Non-circ'ing mamas - question

2 intact boys here, my DS1 is almost 7 he has nicked his foreskin. We just put neosporin on it for the nicks ( maybe 3 times ever, I think he was playing rough - lol). When he was 5 he had an infection but I am not sure it was related to his foreskin at all, it wasn't a UTI, but he was red, swollen and painful - not at the head or by his foreskin but further up, it was weird.

DS2 has no issues at all.

Re: Non-circ'ing mamas - question

Three boys ages 6 and under and no problems whatsoever. To me, it seems so much easier to care for an intact penis in a newborn than a circ'd one because you don't have to worry about an open wound that they are peeing on until it heals.

Re: Non-circ'ing mamas - question

DS is only 8 months but we haven't had a single issue. My only fear is going to the doctor (we don't go very often). I just keep hawk eyes on them and if it looks like they are goign to retract I will slap their hands away.

Re: Non-circ'ing mamas - question

My youngest is not circ'd and he is almost 5, we only have had a problem just recently. He got a weird rash on his leg, the tip of his penis was red and it itched badly so our ped gave us a topical cream and it cleared up right away. It probably had nothing to do w/ him being uncirc'ed.

My baby boy is only 11 weeks old and he hasn't had any issues. My sister has 3 boys, ages 9, 4, and 4 months, plus her husband and none of them have had any issues.

And I agree with this.

Ds is 3 and had an UTI/kidney infection when he was 2 weeks that put him in the hospital for 15 days and another when he was 5 months old that we treated at home with oral antibiotics. I'm not convinced either way that it was related to being intact. Ped said yes, nephrologist said no way to know. We would still leave any future boys intact. No other issues. I do worry a little because he has A LOT of foreskin so I'm always nervous about him catching it on something when he's naked and getting hurt. I know this is an irrational fear, but mamas worry lol!

Re: Non-circ'ing mamas - question

No issues. My two older boys are not circ'ed and it's all been very low maintenance. This baby won't be circ'ed either. We had more problems with my first son who WAS circ'ed (which is why we didn't circ the others). The maintenance required for his penis right after the circ was terrible.
