Re: So what is in your hospital bag?
How far along were you when you got your bags packed? I'm not due until later in the month so I haven't even thought about it yet.

Re: So what is in your hospital bag?
And here I sit at 39 weeks and I STILL haven't finished packing mine yet.
I have a few things in it, though. -nightgown -going home clothes for me -socks, undies, nursing bra (need to put in a sleep/sports bra) -carmex (I'm an addict) -camera and video camera -cell phone charger -hair ties -couple of magazines (need to put my Nook and iPod back in there, too) And that's it so far. I need to make a list of the "last minute" things and stick it on my bag so I'm not panicked and rushing around trying to figure it out if I need it in a hurry. And I still need to pack baby's bag. I just plan a couple of receiving blankets, an outfit, a sleeper, a onesie or two, going home outfit and blanket, and my nursing stuff (breast pads, nipple shield, lanolin). Also need to bring my boppy along and a cooler (a friend is picking the placenta up and encapsulating it for me).

Glad I'm not the only one with a little time left and no bag packed!
I'm at 36 weeks with my second and keep thinking "hmmm...I should get around to that..."

Re: So what is in your hospital bag?
Mine's mostly packed, but not much in there. I live literally 5 min from the hospital, so if I forget anything I need afterwards DH can get it for me. But I've got:
-Cozy socks with grips for labor -Chapstick -Snacks -Toiletries -Sweatpants, nursing tank, nursing bra and zip-up sweatshirt to wear home (or around hossy afterwards if I'm not bleeding too much) -"depends" type disposable panties for wearing home (since I bled a ton with DD and was constantly worried about leaking on things when I was discharged) -Lanolin -2 outfits for baby -Swaddling blanket for baby (I don't love the hossy ones) -Change of underwear and tshirt for DH -Extra batteries for cameras Then I have a list of stuff to grab at the last minute like computer, phones, chargers, and so on. I put the list in the hospital bag in hopes I wouldn't lose it I started packing around 36 weeks, but just put a few things in at a time. Now I'm at 38+2 and think I'm done except for the last minute thingsTotally have not installed the carseat yet. We'll probably just throw it in the back seat when we leave for the hospital and install it before we go home. Or I'll just send DH home to get it if we forget.

Re: So what is in your hospital bag?
I have 3 lists, since a lot of the stuff has to be thrown in at the last minute. Doing birth center, so have to plan for food more than I did last time!
For DS: pajamas "big brother" shirt & pants underwear stuffed animal coloring books crayons toothbrush and toothpaste For Me&DP: cell phones & charger camera & charger laptop & charger (for music?) massage oil chapstick hair ties yoga pants/tee to wear home nursing bra robe nightgown for labor rice pack toothbrush and toothpaste- just in case we're there a while flip-flops & shorts for DP -for birth tub/if it's hot laborade ice cubes chicken broth stew or beans and rice for postpartum meal (just trying to keep a pot of one or the other in fridge for the next few weeks- we eat beans a lot around here) frozen pads (still need to make those) Baby: coming home outfit (hat, shirt, pants, socks, scratch mittens) blanket gift for DS (we'll only be there about 4 hours postpartum if all goes well, so they give you organic sposies for that time and then we'll start cloth when we get home)

Re: So what is in your hospital bag?
Here's my things I've packed(bag is currently ready-to-go by the front door):
Be forewarned I am guilty of over-packing. -3 pairs of comfy socks -4 pairs of maternity undies -2 nursing bras, nipple butter -Nightgown to deliver in -2 sets of pj's for post-delivery -1 towel -Toiletries(including overnight pads and panty-liners) -nursing cover -headband/hair ties -cell charger, camera, xtra battery and extension cord -baby book -notepad-pen -slippers -2 copies of birth plan For hubby -3 changes of clothes, toiletries Also taking my dock for music, but that doesn't fit in my bag. That's already in our trunk. Baby Bag: -Soft Baby Blanket -3 Swaddle/Receiving blankets -3 burp cloths -1 pack of NB dipes and pack of wipes -Samples of; baby shampoo/body wash, baby lotion, bottom balm. baby jar of organic coconut oil -3 outfits(snap shirt, pj's, hat, socks, scratch mittens) **All in her diaper bag next to my bag ![]() Also taking nursing pillow- currently in our trunk. That's what I've got, only thing I'm missing is nursing pads. Haven't been able to decide on which to get. I do know that the hospital sells a brand I'm considering in case I don't get any in time. |
