Re: Its a happy basic weekend!

Hey everyone...I've been a bit busy today.

Cleaned up the flat,
vacuumed & mopped through,
knit a pair of socks for the nephew that is now a day overdue (or rather finished one pair and knit the first of the next pair)
Had a BBQ with the ILs and roasted marshmallows with the kids

then we picked grapes from the garden and made grape and pear smoothies.

Then the usual night time routine with the singing and story time. I quite like it...the girls even jumped up and got themselves changed and tidied up their room without me having to tell them tonight.

so after 3 long a$$ days of training I just had an aha moment that almost made it useful. It had nothing to do with the training but will make my posted lesson plan more understandable to the students and me.

May I ask what it was, Jen?

Eggplant lasagne in the oven. I hope it tastes as good as it smells.

Re: Its a happy basic weekend!

Mel I think I explained our dumb PDSA lesson plans when you were here. for year I have been trying to figure out how to make it work in the library and still show all the SIOP stuff I do.
So it finally clicked for me today to make:
PLAN: the quarter standards that they need to know(change once a quarter
DO: the weekly objective I am focusing on both Content and Language
STUDY: the actual assessment I am using with them
ACT: a review for me as to what to add/take away/change for next year

Seriously like angels singing in my head when it all clicked in. Then I still only have my once a quarter PDSA and I just change the DO section weekly.

Re: Its a happy basic weekend!

speak teacher all you want. I talk random nonsense daily.
All of the horses are coming back. I am interested to see what happens to the geldings. Since they cannot take part in any baby making, perhaps they will be broken for riding/showing when mamas are too pregnant? Just glad that I don't have to have a talk with the kids about them leaving.
WFD? I am making honey garlic meatballs, brown rice and sauteed eggplant. Tomorrow I think will be spinach and artichoke mac and cheese, although I am feeling super pasta'd out right now, so maybe something lighter, like this http://barefeetinthekitchen.blogspot...h-chicken.html
