Anyone else avoiding all interventions?

That may not be the right word.... But I'm wondering who else is just sitting back and letting nature take it's course. I'm not getting a vaginal check until I'm in labor, I'm not getting the membrane sweep, etc. I've been taking my RRL and EPO but I'm not doing anything more invasive than that. I'm not disparaging anyone else, I just want to know if I'm a lone ranger here.

I didn't do anything. Not even herbs! I did have my water broken once I got to 9 cm though. I was just done with labor (I didn't have an epidural) and my babies always come within 30 minutes of my water breaking. Sure enough, after two contractions, I was ready to push! So I guess I mostly had no interventions.

Today is my due date and no signs of anything going on. I'm not getting my membranes swept or even herbs. I will probably try walking and DTD, but beyond that, no interventions. I'm very uncomfortable and annoyed (wasted time off from work), but I'm still choosing to wait.

I'm doing the RRL, the walking, the ball, and DTD, but nothing else. I've never been offered a finger sweep but I'd opt out anyway.

Yesterday was my due date and so far I haven't tried anything beyond walking. My baby is so low though that walking makes me super sore, like a bruised-been-riding-a-horse feeling.

Might try my pump soon. . . I don't know. It is so hard to wait!!

I only did rrl and epo. Dtd 2x in 2 weeks. Lots of walking and foot massages (Achilles heel and between big and next toe on ball of foot) but nothing else. 3 days overdue but she came in a rush. Lol.

I don't count the water breaking because you were already VERY much in labor. I've never had my water break naturally. I really hope to this time, but my MW (who is very much into doing things as naturally as possible) told me that my bag of waters was so "stubborn" with DD that she's not sure she would have come out on her own had it not been broken. DD was a BIG baby, posterior and I had a lip of cervix. No epi here either (homebirth) and I'd been in labor 12 hours. At that point, I was afraid I'd be heading to the hospital if I didn't get her out soon. She came out within 30 mins of my water being broken too.

Just want to say again, I won't jump on anyone who does do a natural induction (or whatever else). I was just curious. Gosh it's SO hard at the end. I get tempted to run out for the castor oil every time I read another birth story or see a squish. I want this baby in my arms already!! I just keep telling myself that the labor will be better if I leave it alone (castor oil doesn't make for a fun start to labor, lemme tell ya).

Hang in there mamas! They've got to come out sometime.

Re: Anyone else avoiding all interventions?

nothing much for me, got my EPO and RRL but I consider that preparation not really intervention. DH and I DTD anyway and I have to walk to get places lol due on Friday, maybe at 41 weeks we'll talk a sweep or something, I was 2cm last Tuesday

Just had Cameron 10 days ago. I had nothing, no vag exams or checks til 40 weeks 6 days. I had her check that day, I was 3. I was taking rrl and black cohosh. Next day (41 weeks exactly) I had a sweep and she had me take 2 blue cohosh pills. (I was 6 centimeters) Cameron was born 8 hours later exactly, after a 1.5 or 2 hour labor. So fast. So basically no interventions til 41 weeks this time.

Love the name Cameron!! I might opt for a sweep at 41 weeks. I can only deliver with the midwife at my birthing center til 42 weeks and at that point would have to switch to an ob at the hospital :/ Glad your labor was fast!!

I am 40 weeks and 2 days now.
