Infant carries/cavaties

My dd (15 mo) may have some cavaties in the front teeth. She was EBF till 6mo and we have always cleaned her gums and then teeth. Her dad and I both have "bad" teeth our whole lives. It is probably genetics. I have an appointment set for next week and was wondering what to expect. How the heck will they examine her- she will probably not cooporate. How do they treat cavaties at this age? Fillings or do they pull the tooth? I ask this because I have heard stories of them pulling teeth for bottle rot. I am scared for her. Can somebody put me at ease or maybe just give me some info so I am prepared? tia

Re: Infant carries/cavaties

My sister was 3 years old when she got her first and only cavity. I remember this well because it was an oddity in our family (I have never had a cavity and neither has my brother or mom) and they did the happy gas with her so she was relaxed and filled it, no tooth pulling. Every dentist is different though so I would check in ahead of time and figure out what they do.
