We had to stay home today, but my little heathens would have benefit from a little Jesus this AM. They been all morning. I just want to instead.

I'm super proud of myself for only getting 1 braid at OFFF. I feel like the queen of self control.

laundry day (cue Neil patrick Harris) here. I've been folding and switching and such all day. We celebrated Mabon yesterday, which was nice. Had a roast chicken, nutmeg squash, and sautéed mushrooms and hot spiced apple cider. There is a chance that ds might bleep me for that, they have before ( s p i c e d).
Been pretty busy, fighting myself because of my lack of motivation... Forgive me for my sparse postings!

Thank you, I just love walnut finish for anything. Your Mabon celebration sounds fun. We were pretty low-key, we had our first fire of the season to celebrate the transition and talked to the kids about what autumn is/means, and about harvests, and took them out to see the leaves that are starting to turn.

Cider sounds amazing, I need to find some!!

I'm waiting for the mama to tell me if she wants striped legs or not, so I started the booties while I wait. Here's a wip pic...

Yeah, our celebration was pretty low key as well. As much as I love Mabon, to me it's mostly a marker of Samhain coming and that's where I get all kinds of crazy I did however get to do some tarot readings and that was fun/informative.
The cider was super easy and delicious, and my house still smells of it!
I used a gallon of locally made cider, in a large pot, and added whole cloves and allspice, ground nutmeg, and cinnamon sticks. Brought to a boil, added some brown sugar, and simmered for 15 minutes. It was so yummy and I used the original container for the leftovers.

Cute! I am doing striped legs on the order I'm doing right now and trying to figure out how I want to do it as I have two trim colors. I was thinking colorway, trim one, colorway, trim two, colorway, trim one, and so on. Sound good?
