Cd?

Moms of many: do you cd? How do you find the time? I know it's one load but it takes me all day because of my routine and then I forget about the stuff.

Re: Cd?

Well right now I only have two in diapers but my trick is to have enough diapers that I only have to do one load of diaper laundry a day. I rarely line dry because I am so busy with everything else.

You just make it a habbit. I wash on Mon, wed, Fri. We try to have enough diapers to make it through the weekends and most of Monday as I don't usually get Mondays diapers back in place till sometime Tuesday. Lol.

I just wash when the pail is full. We use prefolds and covers. Right now I am down to 1 in diapers but have had 3 in them before. I keep my wash routine and diaper system simple. We use prefolds from birth to potty training.

Re: Cd?

I use cotton flats and preflats (flats folded into fourths with the edges serged off into 10x12" and 13x15" rectangles) either trifolded or bifolded in pocket diaper shells used like covers (no inserts inside), which means no complicated wash routines. They are so easy to wash and dry, just a cold wash and then a hot wash is all. I just do a cold rinse if there have not been any messy poos in that load (yes, I scrape and dump what I can in the toilet, but you know what I mean, the leftover gunk).

I wash Monday evenings and Friday mornings. I have 1.5 in diapers right now. No stuffing like with pockets, no pinning, no complicated washing like with MF and AIOs, no endless dryer cycles like with fitteds and AIOs, no bulk like with fitteds and trifolded prefolds. I love love love my birdseye preflats!

Re: Cd?

IDK, I don't find that it really adds that much time to my laundry routine. It only takes 2 weeks to make something a habit

Re: Cd?

It doesn't take much extra time, I am lazy though and I rarely "put diapers away" in the baby's room. More often than not they just sit in a laundry basket in the laundry room ready to use.

When I had 2 in cloth I washed every day. Load goes in at first nap time (back when they both took 2 naps), gets moved to the dryer at second nap time.

Re: Cd?

I wash twice a week and I have to hang all of our laundry (the cost of electric is SO high here). I have quite a large stash and I've been doing cloth full time for 5.5 years so it's just normal here.

Re: Cd?

I have 2 in dipes and I'd rather do my CD laundry then my regular laundry any day of the week! It's just a routine you have to find what works best for you and stick to it!
