Yes I read the other responses. I am not debating them. I am not suggesting that this is a group of horrible people. I posted my response knowing that there will be a lot people in here who would not make the same decision. I very recently turned my son, I debated it long and hard and like most major parenting decisions it came with some uncertainty. Maybe 'flamed' was the wrong word, but I honestly expected someone to suggest alternatives to turning him, which given *my feelings* about the step I just took would feel like criticism and flaming.
She wasn't even sort of being snarky. There is a huge difference between a difference of opinion and flaming. You did better than many in regards to rf so just feel good about that and don't worry about if someone may criticize

DS until 3.5 when he outgrew the RF height limit on his graco MyRide & our Symphony (and I couldn't find a taller one). Hes 4 now and in a 5pt harness still even tho he's 50lbs. I wub that his MyRide will FF up to 65lbs! (just don't have a growth spurt!!... He's 42")

DD is 18 mos & I plan to RF to the limits on her seat. 40lb limit or height. She's 25 now so we've got a ways to go.'

She DID FF in dh's truck on a road trip (ford f250 extended cab) bc the seats literally didn't fit RF. I was a nervous wreck. She puked the whole time and ended up wearing a trash bag.

There are seats out three that rear face that aren't infant seats (convertibles). You might wasn't to look into those before turning at 30lbs, our using the infant seat that long.
