Colostrum already??!!

Isnt it kinda early for this?? I have no idea......my youngest quit the boob in April. Seems too early in the pregnancy for the boobies to *already* start firing up......especially considering the issues Ive had with low supply (still....."they" say it gets better with each baby....or something like that lol)

Am I the only one??

lol

Maybe its because you only weaned/stopped nursing 6 months ago? I had milk in mine for a long time after ds was done. I also have a friend who weaned her daughter 2yrs ago and still gets some milk sometimes haha. Our bodies are funny that way. I don't think its anything to worry about and hopefully it just means you won't have a low supply!!

Re: Colostrum already??!!

With my first I didn't, but with my subsequent pregnancies I had colostrum right away. I think your body thinks, "oh yeah, I know what to do, " right away.

Plus, I agree with the post about wenaing not that long ago. They won't even do a mammogram until at least 6 months post nursing due to milk.

Congrats on the new surprise!

You
Likely never completely dried. But the body does start making milk around 10 weeks. So if you had existing supply (which is what I
Think) it might be more noticable even earlier than
10weeks.

Re: Colostrum already??!!

I just got a BFP this morning, but the reason I took it was because my boobs hurt so bad last night and I was leaking colostrum. I haven't had a nursling in 3 years 2 months. I was really shocked to see it last night. I have never dealt with colostrum this early in any of my pregnancies......but that is what made me take a test, so hurray that it happened. Our bodies are strange, but seem to know what they are doing.

Re: Colostrum already??!!

My breast have been tingling like a significant let down! I'm only 5 weeks! But I think I was still producing a little milk (8 months after DS weaned!)
