After yellow edge GMD.... What next?
I am going to stock up on prefolds and one size covers. So I will be doing orange edge and the yellow edge. What after that?? Wide baby or red?? What worked for you. Thanks

Re: After yellow edge GMD.... What next?
I went from infant osocozy, to yellow-edge GMD, to red-edge GMD
![]() My babies are never small enough for the orange-edge GMD

Re: After yellow edge GMD.... What next?
It is very hard to tell in advance whether your baby will be best suited for the wide baby or red edge GMD prefold after yellows. It really depends on how your baby is shaped...will he/she outgrow the yellow edge by rise or width? It is very individual. Both my DDs are chunky monkeys and DD1 outgrew yellows by width (she needed the wide baby but it wasn't invented yet so we made the reds work) and now DD2 is outgrowing the rise of the yellow before width. If you tend to have long, skinny babies then red is a safe bet and if you have short, chunky babies the wide baby is a safe bet.

Re: After yellow edge GMD.... What next?
I bought a couple of each size of GMDs so I could try out the sizing as my LO needed them. My first two were chunky babes (average height and almost of the chart weights) so I figured that my #3 would likely be the same. Nope... he's just the opposite almost off the chart height and average weight. The wide-baby prefolds are just comical on him!
The Red Edge are a much better fit... but even better is the green edge Diaper Rites from Diaper Junction... they are actually a little bit bigger in both directions... |

Re: After yellow edge GMD.... What next?
Red edge worked well on our long/skinny baby, he wore them until 13-14 months or so. He also looked great in yellow edge, but the orange edge fit him for maybe 2 weeks only. We also used osocozy infant size on him, they were longer than the GMD ones so we had to actually fold them over, which worked well for nap time, but were a bit bulky for my taste.

Re: After yellow edge GMD.... What next?
Red edge! We went easily from orange, to yellow to reds and then pt'd wearing the reds!! The bleached vs. unbleached are slightly different sizes, fyi. The unbleached are smaller than the bleached.
