So now I really want to make DD a romper but I'm concerned with changing. How the heck do you all of those buttons undone to change a diaper and buttoned back up again before your LO has a melt down from having to stay there for so long?

You could put snaps or a zipper in, instead...or make one in the pull on style which is not open at the crotch. My upcoming Snuggler Romper pattern releases soon and will include ALL those options (& more!).
