My absolute favorite newborn cover is the NB Nikky cover. It is one of the few covers that has a cutout for the cord and they are sooooo soft and gentle. My babe was nearly 10 lbs at birth and the Nikky cover fit him for several weeks over his fitteds. The elastic was very gentle as well, but gave a nice snug fit. I got the cotton covered ones from Zabi Baby, but looks like maybe they're closed ATM. I had Thirsties, WeeHuggers, Bummis, and Blueberry covers as well, but the Nikky were the best.

I liked my Proraps the best. They are plain but they worked really well.

On DS2, who is currently 10 days old, I am liking lil Joeys covers or thirsties Duo sz1. He was fairly big when he was born at 9lbs 2oz but he was super long (22.5 in) so not chubby either.

We liked Imse Vimse Wool, it's machine washable! I never had to lanolize (just wash in Eucalan). So helpful in keeping LO from overheating in his car seat, like he did in Pul.

We're liking Thirsties duo size 1 and Assunta tiny covers right now. I'm also loving our wool for nights. Prowraps didn't fit our girl well for some reason, but they were highly recommended to me.

Re: Rec your newborn covers

Thirsties Duo Size 1. I like the XS too for the first bit, but what I like about the Thirsties Duos is how much use you can get out of them! If I am remembering correctly the size 1s fit until 5 months with my daughter!

Re: Rec your newborn covers

LOVE Nikky newborns. They are my favorite covers in general but the newborn is perfect. Soft, double gusset, trim, breathable and cute.

Re: Rec your newborn covers

My favorite cover when she was first born was the Bummis Super Brite newborn, but she outgrew that fairly quickly. My second favorite those first couple weeks was the Thirsties extra small. Once she got a little bigger, the Thirsties Duo fit well and it will last quite a while.

Re: Rec your newborn covers

Real Nappies, Bummis Super Whisper Wrap, and if you can find any, Diaperaps.
