I forgot to add... Crunch- I honestly think your FTP were red flags to impending shoulder dystocias. I know c/s suck, but a worse boat is my first son ( disability, multiple therapies, surgeries) or even worse than us. I talk with a lot of moms whos babies were also shoulder dystocias resulting in injuries and a lot of them stalled in labor for hours, baby kept turtling, a suspected 9+ baby, and their red flags were ignored and because of that their child lives with the consequences forever as do they. Even though it's hard to accept, i am glad ur doctors knew when to call it quits on labor. This is a fallen world and some of us weren't made to birth 9+lb babies. Definitely stinks, but you really tried and should be sooo proud of yourself! ((BIG hugs))!

I had 2 inductions from zero.

First babe was a 47hour induction at 40w4d (yuck!). Didn't get tough until we were quite a ways in. Epi around 27hours in. C/s for FTP the next Evening. 9lb12oz.

#2 induced at 42weeks. Had some mild irregular contractions while waiting for adequate staff for vbac induction. Still at a zero when we started and for several hours. With nipple stimulation and ball exercises we eventually got things going. After being at a 7 for a while I got an epi (d'oh) and shortly after had a c/s for fetal distress/FTP. I think it was 14-15 hours total with that one. 8lb11oz.

Re: If you had a 9/10/11lb baby, how long was your labor?

My first was ten pound even, went into labor naturally they broke my water in the evening I had been walking around for hours in an hour or 2 I was pushing, pushed about 90 minutes and out came baby, ten pounds 22 inches and a full head of hair. The baby in the next room was 5 pounds so the nurses kept coming in to look at mine saying it was super cool to compare them when they went back and forth lol. I am 5 9 and have broad shoulders and shoe size 8.5 so I am designed to deliver fair sized children. It helped I had a midwife. However I do think if I had just stated home like I'd wanted the baby would have come way earlier car ride check ups and people in and out was disruptive. But I promised dh #1 in hospital and it ended up being good because the midwife knew what she was doing helping guide the baby out. Was aewesome.
