Can anyone give me a reason why to forward face at one year?

If a child gets motion sick often and vomits in the car a parent may turn them sooner so that they can see and make sure they don't choke.

Not enough room in the front seat. My DH can't sit in the passenger seat with the truefit RF behind it. I had trouble getting in and out of the car while pregnant (I have hip/pelvic bone issues that caused major pain). So I imagine that someone with physical disabilities may have difficulty sitting in a seat in front of a RF carseat.

It was really hard for me to come up with any reason not to since I am obviously pro-ERF. You all have provided some great points to consider.

I definitely should have thought about it being a pain because we have entered that territory. My girls are 3 & 4 and still rear facing in my car in their Boulevard 70s Climbing in/out of those things with the giant head wings IS a PITB with my car. The backseat was designed for I dunno, elves? Its so cramped. Low clearance + big car seat = frustration, but I digress.

Excellent point about the choking and forgetting your child in the car as well.

How much do your girls weigh? I wish I could still RF my 4 yo DS but he's 50lbs & 42" tall. Are there even any seats that go that high RF?

The 4 y/o is 39" and 34lbs
3/yo 36.5" and 31lbs

I know I *could* turn them and some days I would like to, my goal is to get through one more winter and then I will probably flip them since its hard to keep them cool in my car.

I had someone say that to me once and I was like, have you seen my car? It's a Volvo station wagon, the whole back end of it is windows. Those Britax seats sit up so high they can see over the back seat no problem. Their view is just fine. Indeed.
