I'm jealous! It's still in the 90s here.

I have an appointment to meet a home birth midwife on Friday. I liked the OB I saw, but the wait times are ridiculous at his office, and I'd rather have a birth at a birth center.

Glad you found the hb, but sorry for the worries. Maybe keep the doppler for another couple weeks?

and now life is back to normal. I worked late last night with the house, dropped my keys off on the counter, locked the doors and I'm done. Went to the park with friends this morning, lunch, now DD is on naptime. As far as I'm concerned, life is going back to normal. Second trimester though and this nasty metallic taste is still in my mouth.. I thought that disappeared earlier than now.
Thank goodness your moving is done! Perfect time for DH to be sick, lol.

I bet baby was just sleeping at that point. 127 isn't abnormal or super low anyways, though

your appt goes well! I can't believe some of the wait times at the OB office in town - hours and hours of waiting sometimes Although I've never waited more than half an hour or so. The longer wait times seem to be for the female OBs - I'm not really that picky, lol.

I was there for 1.5 hours, but my friend was there a few days later and waited for 3 hours!!! The OB is male, but he's very popular. He is very supportive of VBACs and is the only OB in the city that does water births. I already have to drive 3.5 hours each way, so if I have a couple hours of waiting, that's just crazy. I have to bring my girls to all the appointments, and I can't imagine them having to wait that long in the little waiting room that is packed.

My hair is always flat and limp, whether I'm pregnant or not. I have really fine thin hair. I'd love some volume!

This week the main thing on my mind is a house that we looked at last week. Hubby and I have been wanting to move for a few years already, just never found what we were looking for. Now we think we may have found the right one! Hubby plays hockey with the owner of the house tomorrow night, so he's planning on feeling things out to see if we should make an offer or not. I hope we get it!

Otherwise, morning sickness is gone, but exhaustion still lingers. Oh, and I did that necklace gender test thing... it's supposedly a boy. LOVE that!

All this talk about waiting rooms got me to thinking that the waiting is sometimes the best thing about my midwife's practice. More than a handful of times my children have been in the presence of women at different stages of labor. They'll walk around the building, come through the kitchen for a snack or just labor in the swing on the porch. We heard a baby born once and all my kids thought it was the coolest thing ever. We go to a small birth center in a very old building with thin walls.

We go to a birth center also, and I'd love to see a mama walking around in labor! The building is newer, and they have the birthing rooms on the other side of the building than the exam rooms, but if they wander around I might get a glimpse at some laboring mamas. hehe

Ooh no. I didn't want anyone to see me laboring I wished the nurses would leave the nurses station cause I was self conscious

I did end up going down the elevator and to the street out front just to get a different view though. But I was still a bit self conscious.

I don't think DS had a heartbeat that was ever over 130/140, even at the very beginning. I'm sure baby was just relaxed.

This may seem like a stupid question, but were you able to actually hear it? I constantly got a bunch of low rates (120-135) on my display, but never actually heard a beat that fast. I read that its typical to get that. If you did hear it, maybe try counting the beats for 15 to 30 secs next time. I have heard most of those visual displays dont work very well. Mine wouldnt even give me a read out when I found the babe's. And lastly, if it was accurate at 127 then I agree with everyone else- DS's was pretty low the whole time!
