Imagine, Diapre Rite, and GMD

Tell me the pros and cons of each! Which ones are your favorite? Least favorite? Bamboo or unbleached/organic?

I think we will have about three different kinds of diapers...
prefitteds - thinking GMD workhorses
AIO...thinking the BG Elementals (for the sitter)
Or possibly Best Bottoms/Flips for the sitter

Re: Imagine, Diapre Rite, and GMD

I have the GMD unbleached red edge & the Imagine Bamboo/cotton yellow edge. Washed up they are the same size and I can snappi both on DS who is 24lbs, 34". He's very lean. They are close to being too small to snappi. Both are very soft, but the bamboo are the softest. I've only been using them both a couple weeks, but like them both. They are both the same thickness, but the bamboo is a little denser and the GMD a little "gauzier". I've always found unbleached & organic to be softer then unbleached. I'm not sure if I've tried diaper rite. I had some unbleached prefolds that looked like diaper rites and they were also super soft, but I don't know for sure if that is what they were. I don't think you can go wrong with any of the unbleached (or Imagine bamboo) prefolds.

**I just saw that they xsmall bamboo imagines are 3x6x3 so I think I will stick with GMD for newborn size & then switch to Imagine bamboo for other sizes.

Here is a link to a thread comparing different prefold brands

I've only used imagine xs to toddlers (had those converted into AIO's)

Re: Imagine, Diapre Rite, and GMD

GMD Prefolds - Love the quality & softness. Love supporting them because I think they are reputable and very helpful, but it can cost a bit more.

Diaper Rite - Love the quality & softness. Can get free shipping if you order enough. May find them pre-owned on there or on sale. Can rack up points to use for free stuff later.

Nickis - Also soft & good quality. However, her sizing is a little wider and shorter than the other two, so we found sometimes they just didn't work snappied, but only trifolded. You can also earn points with them. They have fantastic customer service too.

It was also very hard for me to decide which company to go with because they really are all great and I really do think, based on my experience, their prefolds are all comparable.

I have only used GMD and DR. I much prefer the DRs b/c they are much softer. They are similar in absorbency and both have good sizing. The DRs are also cheaper so I have stuck with them. I have nb and medium DRs and infant-sized (Yellow-edge) GMDs.

Re: Imagine, Diapre Rite, and GMD

I have used GMD fitteds, orange and yellow edge. I didnt find them to be too absorbant but they worked well for the nb stage. I have also tried the best bottoms covers and they dont fit well on my tall chunky 3 mo old, i just cant get a good fit without i gap on the top, I really wanted to love them. But, I am a HUGE fan of the bg elementals, well actually bg in general. Just amazing quality!!
