How do you register for homeschooling in your state?

I called the school board for our county yesterday and was told to just bring in my diploma and sign a drop paper and a hs paper. She said it would take around 5 mins.

You don't have to report until age 8 in Pennsylvania. You have to go before the school board and they ask you a few questions about what makes you think you could teach the same things the teachers teach.

In NH I just had to submit a letter of intent to the superintendent of our district this year. This is our first official year homeschooling.

Technically, in MO, you don't have to do anything. I just sent a letter of intent to the school DS attended last year to withdraw him and informed them to not count him as a student for their funding.

Check your state laws, it depends on your state! Here in Florida, I just have to send a letter of intent to the Superintendent, starting at age 6. My Kindergartener is only 5, so next year will be the year we have to send in our letter.

In CO all you have to do is file paperwork with the school district and follow all of their rules.

FL here too they have a form you have to print off and mail in simple as that
