I don't know of any coops. But when I've needed multiple skeins I found it about the same price to order directly from them when they have a sale. Not paying pp/coop fees and double shipping makes it close to even.

Sign up for their emails. I periodically get emails for $5.50 a skein. Of course they do add shipping and other fees but I was told it adds up to about the same as I would pay in coop.

ok, I think I found the site www.100purewool.com, right? Which is better for baby projects, 3 ply worsted or a single worsted?

Yes, that's the site. I prefer 3 ply, just because its a little less pilly and slightly thicker. But still crazy soft. The single ply I knit with was kind of inconsistent in thickness too. But it's been a few years since I used it. I do think it would make the best baby hats though.
