How do you wash your produce?

I'll admit, sometimes I don't wash my produce from the store because I don't know what to do. Unlike stuff from the garden there's nothing to see to wash off. But there has to be something on there, right?
...how do you boil water, again?

I just rinse with cold water. Same as I would for something from the garden.

I know someone who uses dish soap and rinses very well. She says" it's okay to use on my dishes so why not?"

Me too. I give fruits and veggies a little scrub with my fingertips under cold water.

I use cold water, but for strawberries (or raspberries, etc) I submerge in a bowl of cold water then drain the water.

Okay! See I didn't know if cold water did anything for any germs or not. Thank you!

Yeah, cold water rinse, nothing more. But definitely rinse everything. I used to work in a produce department--whatever you're putting in your mouth is likely to have been touched by several employees plus dozens of customers. That scares me more than dirt!

If I'm going to be eating the skin and not peeling, I wipe dry with a towel mainly because the tap water where I live is nasty.

Rinse with cold water. I do have a produce brush for potatoes if I'm leaving skins on.
