3rd Birthday party idea help! Tex-Mex theme

I am not creative, but we would like to have a tex-mex themed birthday party for my son in a couple of weeks. He will be turning 3 and there will be other toddlers and kids (up to age 7). We will be serving fajitas, quesadillas, and probably tamales and will have margaritas/texas beer. I may try to get an ice cream cake or maybe tres leches, churros, or flan to fit with the theme.

Other than that, I need help with party favor ideas, decorations.

What kind of party favors (doesn't have to fit w/ the theme) are good for kids and toddlers? I prefer something nice, even if it costs a few dollars per kid.

ANd how about decorations? I'm thinking some tissue paper flowers.

What about a pinata? Where can I get like a sombrero or something?

Any thoughts about this, send em my way as I'm running out of time. TIA!

Maybe you could draw a huge bull on butcher paper or something and hang it on the wall, then do pin the horns on the bull for a game.

Oriental Trading Co online has a ton of stuff, they are good for favors and such.

depends on how much time you have.. Oriental Trading is horrible on shipping costs unless you have like 6 weeks out.

We did a pinata, I got most things from the dollar store and then candy - toy snakes, maracas, etc. I actually made my pinata and it was just balloon shaped (because I used a balloon!) and it was great. You need atleast 4 whole days to make a pinata cause you gotta let it dry between layers, but it was super easy. Each layer took me like 20 minutes to do and then I was done for the day.

If you want a sombrero and you're wanting to buy, you can try Walmart or a party store. Otherwise, I'd guess online.

favors, again.. I'd go with maracas for sure. The rest could be almost anything.

Paper flowers in vibrant colors are definitely tex-mex.

I wish I'd known, we had a massive bucket filled with cascarones I would've FFS'd you but the 3 y/o decided to stomp on them and they are all gone. You could have the kids make some as a project! They are fun.

Do you have a party store near you? Ours usually has lots of that kind of stuff.
