I did it too! Faster drying, and I feel like they get cleaner, easier, KWIM?
In comparison to a freetime, the detached BGE soakers (2) are both still attached in the BACK. as opposed to the FT with one attached in the front and one in back. It's sort of like two flaps layered over each other.
I like it because it's easier to slide a hemp doubler underneath if needed.

Yup mine are attached at the back too. It is nice for folding one of the soakers in half if you need to. I couldnt stand the Freetime system. In 5+ yrs of CDing the Freetime was one diaper I tried on the kiddo and took off before even letting her pee in it.

how does spraying work with the detached part?

I just hold it up by the elastic and it sprays out much better detached since there is not as much for it to get stuck in

Spraying it is sooooooo much easier. I hated spraying when they were attached. Crap went everywhere. Literally. lol.
