Polly Pockets... mistake or not?

Would it be a mistake to introduce my 4 year old girl to Polly Pockets when I have a baby who is putting everything in his mouth? I know that she will love them, but not sure she will be very responsible about putting pieces away and there are lots of little bits that I might not get put away quickly enough either. I got a great set of them on CL for a good price and have them socked away and wondering when it is a good idea to pull them out. Wondering if Christmas would be too soon and I should just make plans for other Christmas gifts and hold off for longer on the P.P.

I'd wait.

I have a 17 mo old and introduced my 5.5 yr old to Barbies and have been collecting Barbie's shoes and having to put them away ever since. It's really frustrating and I'm glad she only has 3 barbies and one pair of barbie shoes.

I'd wait as well. In addition to the choking hazard issue, Polly Pocket clothes are IMPOSSIBLE to get on and off. Dd couldn't remotely manage it when she was 4 and 1) either got completely frustrated or 2) required a parent to take the clothes on and off.

I'd wait also. My 4 y/o got some barbie princess dolls for her birthday and the pieces are everywhere! We have a designated latching container for all of it but there always still bits and pieces laying around.

I wouldnt wait. But if I had to wait for babies to get out of the mouthing stage for my kids to have certain toys, they would have no toys!

My almost 3 year old loves small toys like lalaloopsy we just make sure to keep them out of reach of the baby in a special small toy bucket.

This is totally true!!! Impossible to dress those little dolls. You'll be spending your life trying to put shoes you can't even see on feet the size of a flea!

We had them when we had a baby in the house. DD1 had an area to keep them and it was fine. Honestly we thought the pieces were so small they wouldn't even be a choking hazard, they'd go right down!

I much prefer littlest pet shop if your dd is into 'little' things.

I'd wait too, my DD loves little things and the littlest pet shop has been a big hit with her. And they are just big enough that the baby won't choke on them. My DD got Squinkies while I had one that put everything in her mouth, talk about a bad idea! Stay clear of those things!!

I wouldnt wait. Mine were never big on putting stuff in their mouth. I always have a seperate area for older kids to play with their stuff and littles ones to play though.
