What is the cheapest way....

To cloth diaper a newborn?? I don't mind paying good money for one size diapers but I can't bring myself to spend too much on newborn size! Since they only fit for a short time.
Or is there something that would fit for a while, like for an 8 lb newborn?

I have 24 (ish) prefolds. 12 newborn and 12 infant. I would think those with a few covers would do it. Will sell them cheap. Send me a message if you have interest.

Flats and Thirsties Duo covers. You could get by with 2 dozen flats and 4 covers. About $100 and would get you well into OS range even on OS's that run big.

Neighbor had 8 lbs baby & one size snap down covers worked 4 her. Only not liker red marks onlegs. I like fbos but new small so not make to pting but will still. Last a while. I liked the adjustability of leg openings.

Prefolds or flats are the cheapest. I had a stash of half prefolds and half aio's I think that worked best for us. It's much easier for family when helping to use a aio or when out.

Cheapest? When our LO was on the way, we researched a lot. The absolute cheapest was a newborn diaper rental. For $30 (plus a deposit you get back in PP), you have a fantastic newborn stash, and if you opt for an AIO or pocket, it's a stash anyone can figure out (=more help with diaper changes!). I got mine from Kissed by the Moon.

Get a popular newborn diaper with a great resale value and sell when your finished. Honestly you don't break even, even, with newborn dipes on a big baby.

Prefolds for sure. But one word NB diapers, they have a great resale value and you can usually sell them for about 60-70% of what you paid for them.

Re: What is the cheapest way....

We are doing a diaper rental (from KBTM). I didn't want to buy since this is probably the last baby and when I compared the price to just using sposies for 3 months until we are really big enough for our OS diapers, it was actually cheaper than sposies (my time and energy for washing not included of course that is priceless!)
