With my first 3, I never knew my betas. I just peed on the stick, and a line appeared and that was that. So I have nothing to compare this to, but my numbers just barely doubled at 48hrs. 71 at 14dpo, 153 24hrs later.

I've read that betas really don't mean much as long as they're rising. You can have low or average numbers and end up with twins. You can have super high numbers and end up with just one.

But, does it matter that they're just barely doubling??

Those numbers are awesome! They told me that they like to see the numbers double every 48 hours. Yours are great for a 24 hour apart blood draw!

ETA: I just looked it up again... and yep, I was right:

These should be used as a guide only.
hCG levels double approximately every 48 hours during early normal pregnancy. It reaches a peak at about 10 week of gestation (since last menstrual period).

sorry...it was a typo...the 153 was at 48hrs!

Still, as long as it doubles, I think you can assume everything is currently progressing normally. Coupled with the fact that your spotting has stopped, it sounds like you are in the clear Mamma!

My girl was by far my most dramatic pregnancy. She's 20 months now and the drama just never stopped!

Those numbers are fine. The only time I've had patients with problems are when the numbers have basically not risen at all after two days (ectopic) or been going down (MC). Congratulations!!!!
