Thank you gals....AND, I'm doing it...but admit...

First, wanted to thank you for the all of you who gave input on handling the 'starting to vax again' with an exemption on file. Checked it all out. We are good to go with exemp on file for the year. We did our first catch up round 2 weeks ago.
Tomorrow both of my sons are going in for the CP and my 5 year old is getting the MMR.

I do admit that even though I've continued to research and seeing the scientific side, now that the vaccine risks are minimal. But I do have that little bit of worry in the back of my mind. But we are pushing forward. I just keep telling myself that the MMR=Autism has now been de-bunked and my son is already ASD so I know that won't be from the vax

Now the boys are getting used to getting shots all of the sudden. Last time, even the nurse was laughing because my 5 year old saw the needle and it really hit him. He said "Mom, I really do NOT like shots." SO very calm! Then she did it and he said "OUCH! Mom, I SAID I do NOT like shots!!!" And that was that. NO tears!

Then tonight he sighed really big and said, "It's shot day tomorrow. I hate shots." And then went on playing with his legos!

Yeah I was impressed! I think it actually calmed him a bit when he saw me get a flu vax a couple of weeks before that.

My oldest was one of those kids that never cried and would just say "ouch!" it was funny, even when she as a itty bitty toddler.

DD3 just got her boosters on Mon and the nurse actually told her she can say ouch. DD3 just looked straight ahead deadpan. I think the nurse was kind of worried she wasn't crying or reacting negatively to them.

What a tough decision...so glad your guys are so great about it. Last time we took DD in & she had shots, we got to listen to 20 min of her saying, "When's that doctor gettin' in here to give me my shot?! I'M READY FOR THE DOCTOR TO LOOK IN MY EARS NOW!" & so forth for about 20 min. She never peeped during her shot, but just tonight she said, "Remember when I went to the doctor & he gave me a shot?" I asked where she got a shot, & DD answered "In my toe!" I looked quizzically at DP, who reminded me that DD had in fact gotten the lead test toe stick. Clearly she's not traumatized by shots or doctors either

I am glad that vaccinations are going well. It is difficult to see our children hurting or worried about getting shots. I try to remember that there are lots of things that DH and I do for our kids that are unpleasant, but are good for their health and wellbeing.

I HATE it when my kid is hurting. I never thought it would effect me so much but it just bothers me so much to see her in pain. Shots always go quickly though so I'm getting used to it.
