My king sized Whirlpool Cabrio is a top loader and cost under $900 (I think $699 was the price when we bought it). It's a great machine, except that sometimes things with draw strings get wrapped around the inside if I forget to tie them up first, and I will sometimes get a UL error message.

We have the LG Waveforce TL and I love it. I got the one with allll the options last year on sale for $800 and it is regularly almost $1,000. If there aren't any good sales remember that you can always try to talk them down a little.

Re: Recommend a HE washer!

I've read reviews online on the Bravos and have a lot of bad reviews. When I search for a super capacity i get sizes that are 3.6 cu ft and up. I don't know how large my washer is now. At the time 10 years ago it was called a super capacity. My moms super capacity that is almost 30 years ago could fit into mine!

Re: Recommend a HE washer!

We have a top load LG an I love it. We got the really big capacity one so it was over your budget but I got it during Columbis day sale (I think, it was some holiday) and it was $700. My parents were visiting and washed some clothes and really liked it so they went out and bought the same one. They had Bravos and HATED it. They sold their house and left them there so they got the new LG ones for their new house.

Re: Recommend a HE washer!

I have a 3.7 cu ft capacity in my GE FL and I just did a load of 8 bath towels, 2 hand towels and 3 beach towels, and yes, they were all clean coming out. Never had a problem fitting in enough laundry!

ETA: We bought ours at Home Depot, it was $550 on super 4th of july sale. It's sort of basic for a front loader (I guess?) but it gets my diapers and my clothes super clean. Like I mentioned before in a post, Stain Wash cycle has gotten 6 month old formula stains out of a lost onesie.

Thanks, the ones that had at the store when I was in were all 3.2 or 3.5 the larger ones that we want have to be special orderd ( at least thats free!) But even they looked big to me, very similar to what I have now. I don't think I could wash that many towels in mine and have them come out clean!

I was thinking the same thing. What used to take me 6-7 loads now takes 3!
