Prayer request for a 16 month old baby boy

My friend called me tonight and asked me to pray for a friend's nephew. He is 16 months old. He fell in the family's pool, and when his mom pulled him out, he wasn't breathing. She did cpr for 20 minutes til the paramedics got there. They were able to get his heart started again, but he is currently in a coma at All Children's Hospital. They will know in the next 48 hours what his brain activity will be like. They detected brain activity already, but if his brain swells at all, that could be gone. Please pray for little Logan. Thanks mamas.

Me and my family were hit by a drunk driver in September 2011. We were sitting still, he was going about 60mph. My three year old was unconscious. He had impact seizures, and continued having them in the hospital. Less than 6 hours after the accident, he had brain surgery, and a tube put in to drain the fluid off of his brain. He was in PICU for 6 days. Remained in the hospital for 6 more days.

Today, he's a happy, healthy, 4 year old. You would never know what he went through, except for the tiny scar on his head.

All of this to say - prayer is powerful. Little kids are resilient. They bounce back from things better than we could ever imagine. I will be praying for this little boy... and just KNOW that everything will be okay.

My brother was shot in the head when he was 19 - he spent his 20th birthday in the ICU. The liaison explained to me (17 years old at the time), the plasticity of brain cell regeneration. 16 months olds are much better off recovering from brain damage than a 16 or 60 year old! There is hope for him.

He will be in my thoughts. I hope he recovers and doesn't have severe brain damage. My friend's ds lost oxygen at birth. He did end up with a type of cp that is also common in drowning victims. His mobility is affected but his cognition wasn't. Who knows what the future lies for this little guy but I hope that his brain doesn't swell and the damage isn't too bad if there is any.
