she has made it through the first nap and that's the hardest part. If you buy another one, you'll either have to do this AGAIN with her knowing that you can find one or wait for her to naturally outgrow it.

took about 2-3 days/nights and the painful part was over.

it is so hard.

I think I'd just be very sympathetic to her, but not buy a new one.

Just tell her it got lost, and it's ok, we all lose things, and that it's not a big deal b/c those are for babies anyway and now she's a BIG GIRL!

Maybe you could even offer some sort of special stuffed animal to replace it. Like "Now that you don't have a binky, you get to sleep with ______! This is a very special toy, only for big girls who don't use binkys..."

I dunno, my kids had to get over theirs. My DD thought we were torturing her the first day, but quickly got over it within 3 days or so. My son really didn't even notice it was gone when we took it. I think kiddo #3 will be the hardest yet...
