Fake. We tried both in our early years of marriage, but real trees are expensive, they tear up my arms when hanging the lights, and we're out of town for at least a week at Christmas. Real just doesn't make sense to us.

Real! I would rather have no tree than a fake tree. They smell good, look good, sooo much fun to go pick one out - and I could care less if they shed. I'm already vacuuming every other day. Haha

Re: s/o Christmas tree. Live or fake

We always get a real one. I like that it's always different every year, I do get tired of the shedding and clean up though, I complain about it every year but we still go back for the real one over the fake.

We always do a real tree. Love the smell, the look... it wouldn't feel like christmas if it was a fake tree.

Fake. I've got terrible allergies and a real tree in the house makes me miserable. However, I love the smell of real trees! A good friend always gets one and I make a special effort to hang out and drink hot cocoa at her house. Just not for long! :sniffle:

Fake. Real is too much responsibility.

We get them from a local farm and 7'-9' is around $45 which is a bargain compared to most. And I agree about the smell, we love it

Real. I tried a fake one year. It was depressing.

My mom's friend only does fake ever since she had an incident with her last real one decades ago. Apparently praying mantis..es? Plural? Whatever. Had laid eggs in the tree. Once they got it inside and the heat was on over night, they all hatched. Hundreds. Everywhere. Boxing like no tomorrow over her carpet and furniture.

So I can understand real aversion. But it's real for me

Re: s/o Christmas tree. Live or fake

Fake. I love that I can get a big, beautiful one and have it look perfect for 10+ years. Not to mention, in our house it goes up the day before Thanksgiving and a real tree wouldn't last that long.

I do miss the smell though. Not this year, but at some point I may start adding a small real one to the mix

Seriously though, can it be time for Christmas now?
