Once they got it inside and the heat was on over night, they all hatched. Hundreds. Everywhere. Boxing like no tomorrow over her carpet and furniture.

So I can understand real aversion. But it's real for me

I do miss the smell though. Not this year, but at some point I may start adding a small real one to the mix

Seriously though, can it be time for Christmas now?
We usually get our tree around Thanksgiving and it stays up till New Years..totally get your other reasons though.

Live all the way! Unless there is a fake tree out there that can replicate the pine smell.

Re: s/o Christmas tree. Live or fake

I have only had fake since we have been married. Our fake tree looks VERY sad though right now. So we are considering a real tree this year. When we got married we lived in a apartment with interior hallways (our front door went to a hall and not outside) so we couldn't have a real tree. We have a house now so we can have whatever we want.

Fake, but it's ugly and has probably seen it's last Christmas. We're not doing a tree this year because I don't feel like trying to keep DD out of it all day, but whenever we have a tree up again it will probably still be fake due to laziness, but it will be much prettier.

Re: s/o Christmas tree. Live or fake

We've done both, though I think that DH prefers live as part of the xmas season, etc. I personally can't justify spending $75 or more on a decent sized & looking tree that just gets tossed at the dump later. We got a great deal on a fake tree some years ago just after the holiday season (that is when to buy a fake one btw - they all get crazy marked down). Now we've got it for the duration & don't have to worry about watering, how/where to toss it, needles falling, etc.

My MIL does a live treat every year & it's a great part of the holiday for her. My family usually does fake. If I could remove the whole "tree" thing for xmas, I would b/c I don't really like it but it's super fun & important to the kids, so we do it.

Always had a fake. But I tossed it after last year (it was bent years ago and I was salvaging it) so we get to have a real one this year!
