I'm seeing an OB in a few hours

We have a homebirth MW, but the clinic won't let me get a ultrasound unless I see a OB first. Stupid policies. So anyways, we told them we're seeing a HBMW and that the only reason we're scheduling an appointment is to get a u/s order. They seem fine with it and the clinic knows my MW. They are pretty HB friendly, however, since they switched to Mayo Health Systems they got whole new Doctors and the back up OB I used with ds2's HB is no longer there. So I'm not sure how this new Doctor is going to take it, but hopefully he's nice and doesn't try to give me crap about a HB. Keeping fingers crossed for a friendly Doctor and that he allows a u/s.

Oh, and clinics/OBs make me super nervous so now I'm extra gassy

Haha that last part made me laugh.. When we went for our 20 week gender u/s the whole time in the waiting room I was passing gas and took 2 number 2's while we were waiting!!! I was super nervous-good luck with everything!

So everything went great! The OB was really nice, she was so super cute. Kept calling me sweety and told me that if I ever needed anything, prenatal or postnatal, I could come back and she wished me all the best for the homebirth. When I told her I was 19 weeks and seeing a MW just wanted a u/s she told me she could get orders in right away and could be seen on Monday (at 10 am), and she'll get me on my way. My DH was even suprised with how cool about the HB she was.

Awesome, I don't think you find that a whole lot!

Re: I'm seeing an OB in a few hours

Glad it went well! I've never been in this particular situation, but I always get nervous when going to get DD shots because we delay and choose not to do some... and while I won't give in, I HATE being pressured and made to feel bad.... as if it's bad that I'm more informed than most people in the world who just "do what everyone else does" or "do what pediatricians just say to do."

It went really well. She was supporitve of our homebirth plans and everything. We even had our ultrasound yesterday and baby looks great! Didn't find out the gender, but heart, spine, all that was great. Placenta was also in a good position (not by the cervix opening).
