trash bags for pail liner?

Ummmm, newbie here... I have cd but no pail liners yet. Can I start with trash bags or will the diapers mold in those?

Re: trash bags for pail liner?

you can but its not necessary if you have some kinda pail you really dont need a liner. I bought two liners but really I use one as a regulat laundry bag for dirty clothes and the other is jsut stored away. I just toss the diapers into the pail.
Ive read a few stories of diapers accidently getting tossed out when trash bags were used as well.

Re: trash bags for pail liner?

That's what I've used for the past two and half months UNTIL last night when my husband accidentally threw out 1-2 days worth of cloth diapers into the trash. So I'd recommend going with a pail liner or something that won't get mistaken. But it might be alright if you have a dedicated pail (mine were just sitting next to our sposie pail). I've seen pail liners online for as little as $16.

Re: trash bags for pail liner?

I wouldn't do it. I lost a diaper once and there was a post just today about someones husband throwing out diapers because he made a mistake. Its not only better for the diapers to breathe and not stink up in a pail liner but its visual re-inforcement that this is not trash! I have a plaent wise pail liner and highly recommend it. I've been suing it for 3 years at least.

Garbage bags are dangerous - WAY to many of them get mistaken for trash and tossed. Alva has pail liners for $9 and free shipping - at that price, it's not worth the risk!

You can also use a pillowcase inside a pail.
