Great job!! I was like, that colorway is so pretty...wonder what it is...then I see that it's 'Homecoming', which made me laugh since I'm sitting here knitting a pair of longies using the same colorway.

These are beautiful!! When you say you're a "newbie knitter", what do you mean exactly? I have never knitted, not at all, but I am taking a beginner's 2 hr class later this week and then a 2 hr "201" class the week after. I'm having a hard time picturing what I'll be able to do afterwards... Obviously, I'm not expecting to be able to make anything like this, but I'm wondering if I might be able to make a respectable pair of simple NB longies before this babe is due in Feb?

I just learned how to knit maybe like 3 months ago. I just picked it up by watching youtube vids. I had never knitted anything before. The thing that helped me was just doing and not giving a care if I messed up. If you can learn how to cast on, join for knitting in the round, the learn how to do short rows (love shadow wraps the best for this), increases...you are good to go. I bought the Evie pants pattern from ravelry and it was SO easy to understand and there are pictorials with the pattern. If I got stuck I asked for help from the girls on the KAL thread in chats. To be honest there were times I wanted to throw my work across the room...but I stuck with it! ALSO the Molly Bubble Romper was an easy start off. If you learn how to m1f and m1b, you are good to go. It sounds harder than it really is. Also...bamboo circulars are great to start with...your stitches won't move around as easy. I moved on to Addi clicks metal needles and it works awesome for faster knitting.
