Re: What the heck just happened to me?

my gallbladder pain was the worst ive ever experienced... i had no personal history of attacks, but ended up in the hospital to have it removed with pancreantitis on top of it... i was on a dilauded drip and a pump and still could barely stand it. they had to wait for my pancreas to calm down before they could take my gallbladder out. it was the worst week of my life, lol...

Gallbladder for sure! It hurts like a mother...if it happens again, go to the doctor. I was prescribed Buscopan to stop the spasms that cause the pain until I had my gallbladder out. The attacks usually get worse as you go along. THere are a lot of cleanses you can do as well. I couldn't because I was nursing.

Good luck!

That's how my gallbladder pain started. Felt like really REALLY bad gas pain. Then when it started going around to my back and shoulder it was almost over. I did that for about a week before I went to the dr and was sent to the ER. They released me and told me it wasn't emergent and didn't need surgery TODAY but needs to come out sooner than later. The whole week was spent in pain and I saw my GP who referred me to a surgeon. When I went to the ER he sent me to with another u/s they said it was emergent and I needed surgery that night. When they took it out it was so tightly bloated and swollen they couldn't grasp it had to actually make an incision and pull it out because it was too big for the lap removal. Ugh! Ouch! The surgeon said I wouldn't have been able to wait another 48hrs before it would have started causing other problems with my liver. I had a stone stuck in my duct and it was backing up hence the swelling. Yikes! Get seen mama!

Re: What the heck just happened to me?

If I drink anything with carbonation(soda, etc.) I will get gas pains like that. It will turn into middle of the night rolling around in pain crying kind of pain. Once it starts to let up I can actually feel each gas bubble popping. It can be much worse than pms cramping.
Gas-x can help but might take a while to work.

Re: What the heck just happened to me?

I throw in another vote for gallbladder. My gallbladder pain was exactly as you described. Started under my ribs and then moved around to my back and lasted about 15 minutes. At times, it felt like I couldn't catch my breath. The only way it was confirmed was by bloodwork & an u/s at the ER.

Gallbladder for sure. They will get worse so go get an ultrasound as soon as you can. I ignored the first few and that was a mistake. Worst pain ever!

Small update. I had an ultrasound done yesterday and I have a stone inside that's 3.7cm long. I'm getting all the proper referrals done and I will be having surgery to remove it.
