Having my Wildtree Launch party tonight. It's going to be kindof small because I don't have many contacts yet The good news is that I need the practice and these guys will be helpful for me.

Torre, I usually print my patterns and mark them up, including tallies, corrections, etc. As you get better about "reading" your knitting you may not need to count as you go for basic things, you'll be able to look and know you've done xx rows, but if you branch out into more complicated things it gets harder to tell again. I do a lot of socks and hate "reading" an eye of partridge heel for example. There are apps for phones, counters you can get at Joann's, or you can just mark it on paper every time you pass the marker for the beginning of the round

I'll talk politics that don't make you grumpy. I turned on the debate last night just to see the guys. Did Ryan's hair remind anyone else of PeeWee Herman?

Need to work, have a meeting today and I've been working on the sleeve of Butch's Christmas sweater. Still haven't measured his arm yet though to see how long it needs to be. I may need another project for the meeting.

Yes, they are kind of holey and I can just SEE them. I kept trying to get them to be more invisible and it wasn't working out so well.

Thanks. It just makes me mad to get so far and then want to take it apart to start over but I think I will like having my "bad" work to look back on.

Hubster told me he MUST have a beard hat for winter (he works on the railroad and its COLD in Chicago in winter) He picked out the yarn last week and its going to be started this afternoon. He better wear it!

I don't remember the last time I had to count rows. If you are doing garter stitch, I always make sure I'm on the RS, and count the ridges by 2s though.
