You count the V or U (upside down) humps of the purls. You DO count the row on the needles. You do NOT count the cast on row. I was given some bad information on this so I researched it myself and the queen of all things technical knitting actually has addressed this issue.

You can also get a counter app or hand counter and a stitch marker (yarn or thread works if you don't have "pretty" ones) and each time you get to it, you click your counter.

Thanks! Finally caught up to read the first post on the MKAL. I'm in...now to decide if I want to splurge and use my pretty madtosh dk that was earmarked for a cardi for me....or scrounge up pp to buy some Color Adventures yarn. She had this really pretty coral color and I'm a sucker for that color. FX no one snags it before I get my pp in order, lol.

I just did the $2 pattern. I refuse to spend that much money on a ebook that is sight unseen...but then again I'm a cheapo. I figured if I like the MKAL enough, I'll wait for her next pattern co-op sale

IDK how old Biden is, but he was talking about sittinga the table w/Reagan and I think that makes him looking pretty good for the age he must be.
Even with his Peewee Herman hair, I think Ryan is cute...regardless of his politics. DH said he knew why I watched...my motivation was definitely not politically motivated.

I can't use wool on Memphis because he picks holes into it, and with his CP he doesn't quite understand that he isn't supposed to. So now I have all this boyish yarn that I probably won't use, booo.

Morning ladies Nothing much to report this morning, just started up on my overalls again.

It is just a cheap acrylic yarn, because I was afraid to try the good stuff.

As far as Paul Ryan goes, I can't decide what I think. At one angle, he is pretty attractive, but then at another, he looks like a turtle. He definitely has PeeWee Herman hair! He's cuter than Biden though.
for another newbie!

I'm curious who you define as the queen of technical knitting is. (My mind says yarn harlot, I want to know who you mean!)

Oh she is. But also techknitter. I suppose they share the throne. But, well, it better be a big throne so there is knitting (elbow) room.
