I'm using the evie pants pattern, on the short rows it says to knit the first set after the zig zag when the front center measures x amount.

My question is, is the "center front" really what will end up being the back of does the pattern really measure from what will actually be the front of the pants?
She means what will actually be the front of the pants.

Measure the front of the pants. The short rows are on the back. : thumbsup::

Re: KAL Oct 7-13 *Knit the funk away!*

DH is upstairs painting, he's almost done with a first coat on what will be Pi's room. My problem is, I thought he was just going to prime it, and then we'd get groceries etc. Now it's an hour til lunch so I should be starting getting it ready in a half hour. We have nothing to cook. I whipped up some homemade mac n cheese last night and we had our uncured turkey dogs because he was supposed to make gnocchi and forgot to prep it (won't be ready until tonight at the earliest, if he even started prep yet). The mac n cheese is our fallback in case something happens or I run out of lunches to feed the kids. He's upstairs locked in with paint fumes and I have NO idea what to feed us.

Yikes, I hate when that happens with meals. I am not sure what I am making the boys for lunch, I have an hour to decide. We need to hit the grocery store today, too.

Oh, I know the rows go on the back to accommodate the bum, lol.

When it says to insert short rows 2" from the front center of the pants I was confused as to whether I measure the 2" from what will actually be the front of the pants or what will wind up being the bum area.

Hope I make sense!

So, I have realized just how much I suck at doing the cuffs on soakers, I just haven't found my groove in picking up stitches, it seems, maybe I BO too tightly? Have anyone just left the soaker as is, with no little cuff on it, or is that a soaker no no?
If you get a crochet hook it makes picking up stitches up easier. Look in knittinghelp.com for lots of great videos. Also for binding off, a great cheat is to size up your needles 2ish sizes and do your bind off row.

I love the steel ones from Walmart for the small sizes. My favorite "danger danger emergency!" size is a 3.00 or 3.25 because it's smaller than almost everything you will commonly make but still can hold a worsted strand without separation. I also use my "g" frequently but usually to do ladder repairs because it keeps the stitches looking similar.

Get the downstairs spotless
Figure out dinner
Rearrange some furniture
Put away the mountain of laundry

Eta: maybe get brave and knit a nb skirty. Even if I don't have a girl I could fsot it.
Man, all I've gotten done is two things! This is going to take all day. At least the downstairs is starting to look better.

Re: KAL Oct 7-13 *Knit the funk away!*

He came back downstairs finally and I said,so... any ideas for lunch? He just said no, and walked back upstairs. Then he came back down and said "we don't have anything for lunch". Gee, you think maybe that's why I said we need to do it last night or early this morning? I was trying to make a list last night and he kept falling asleep on me mid-sentence.
