baby clothes purge and hubby
Got hubby on board with purging the baby clothes!!! I dumped a crate of stuff out and easily had 4 garbage bags worth CRAMMED into just one crate.....this was 6-12mo stuff. So I started sorting it......short sleeve shirts/onesies, longsleeved, dresses, etc. Anything stained automatically went to the donate pile, as did anything I didnt love. I was surprised at how many random mismatched pieces we had. And we must have had 30 jumpers!!!! So I quickly culled that. I just explained to hubby how easy it was to go through if you sort it first. Its much easier to let something go when you see you have 30 more just like it. Surprisingly, he agreed. And I donated 2 bags of baby clothes. Whew!!!

Re: baby clothes purge and hubby
WTG!! I agree about actually LOOKING at things - especially baby stuff. When I got things out that # 1 grew out of and # 2 was just growing into I found a lot of stained items even. No clue why I saved those! Congrats on getting hubby on board!!!

Re: baby clothes purge and hubby
Isn't it FUN to go through baby clothes?? LOL
I'm sooo happy to be at a point where all of our 2yo's clothes and all of the new baby's outgrown clothes go directly into the sell/donate piles. It feels soooo good to not have to store that stuff anymore. I still have a bazzillion totes full of clothes to grow into, but it doesn't feel like TOO MUCH. It must be an illusion or something. HA!

Re: baby clothes purge and hubby
Fantastic! I have four bags on the porch ready for donation pick up today. Those baby clothes must reproduce themselves in the closet! I know I never bought 30 rompers, but I wouldn't be surprised if I had that many, too.
I like the idea of sorting by type first, so you can pick your favorites to keep.

I am in the process of sorting through DD's baby clothes - she is now 3! She has a little brother, and I have put him in some of her girly pjs, but I haven't made him wear other girly outfits.
I recently joined a local FB sales page, and I offered clothes on the site. I now have three buyers lined up to come check out (and hopefully buy) clothes this week!

Definitely putting the clothes in piles by type is the best way! I remember how great it feels to get rid of so much!

Re: baby clothes purge and hubby
I just took a huge tote to a consignment shop and only got $28. That sucked, but now I am down to 1 tote for o months- 2 yrs of boy stuff (only special heirlooms I'd like to keep even if we have no more kids, or at least to save to give to someone really special).
I'm being very strict on how much to save for the next kids, since they always get gifts and since we have so many good thrift/ consignment stores. Oh, and now my kids like to 'match', which is both annoying and cute. In a perfect world, each of my kids would only have 5 outfits per season, but they'd be really good quality like Hanna, and they'd match each other- LOL!
