Angry Aaagghhh! My son soaks through EVERYTHING! HELP!

My son soaks through everything it seems and I am beyond annoyed . I tried fitteds with a fleece cover and he semi soaks through.... The fleece feels moist but the bed isn't wet. He wakes up when the diaper is super soaked (I assume he can feel it). Plus his legs are super spread when he has on the fitteds plus the fleece cover, and the whole thing is pretty thick.(He's a big kid 5months old and almost 21lbs) He's a stomach sleeper and I'm wondering if the thickness plus the way his legs spread apart is good for his spine/back. I have resorted to using disposables at night and he was doing fine for over a month and now he keeps getting a rash on his pubic area every time we use them at night. Any suggestion?

This is my saving grace combo for DS.....

Mother ease sandy
Trifolded thirties duo prefold stuffed in a stay dry sock
Topped with a fleece liner
With wool or fleece soaker (that has the extra wetzone layer.

It has been bulletproof for me!

Re: Aaagghhh! My son soaks through EVERYTHING! HELP!

My bulletproof combos for my 5 month old are:

Flip organic with a bamboo doubler under a Flip
Geffen Baby hemp prefold with a Geffen Baby Hemp Super Absorber under wool
Sbish snapless or OBF under wool

Those are three things I have found always work.

I really like the Sbish bamboo terry flats! Trifold or quad-fold (I like to quad-fold on my 39 month old's nighttime diapers) a small or medium into a fitted with a cotton doubler (the bamboo terry flat would be in place of the fitted snap-in or lay-in soaker) and cover w/the fleece

As far as the thickness, I don't think it would affect his spine/back but you could always ask your pediatrician if you are really concerned

Re: Aaagghhh! My son soaks through EVERYTHING! HELP!

I use a wool cover over Bumboo fitteds (100% bamboo) with a microfleece liner just to keep LO from feeling the wet. My LO is a pretty heavy wetter too, and the wool is a bit moist in the mornings but doesn't soak through. I considered using a bamboo doubler in there too, but the whole thing was so ridiculously huge that I figured we'd deal with the moistness instead.

Re: Aaagghhh! My son soaks through EVERYTHING! HELP!

2 flip Organics in a good cover was my saving grace for my 4 year old night time milk drinker. I've also used a flip organic in the generously spacious Mother ease AIO with excellent results. I quite using disposables at night because I got nasty compression leaks when I picked my kid up in the morning. At least with cloth I could snuggle for awhile instead of immediately changing a diaper on a half-awake kid.

Try a fleece or wool cover.
