Diaper Swappers

i have these 9 wooden boxes left to us by the previous homeowner, who was a tool-maker. i love them and just cleaned them but dont know what to do with them. thought of painting them/ distressing and hanging as storage boxes for craft supplies in our playroom. any other ideas?

Planter boxes on a porch?

storage for books, toys...accessories, etc.

you can turn them on their sides too to display contents.......
