Re: When do you Trick Or Treat?

It depends on the township/city around here. Some places it's the Saturday or Friday night closest to Halloween, others it's always on the 21st. 6-8 in all places.

Our historical square last year started doing a Halloween festival and trick or treating around the square the weekend before Halloween. We like to go to that since we live out in the country and people don't trick or treat here. Then we are free to go to Halloween parties or other fun things on Halloween.

This sounds like amazing fun! We Trick or Treat the Sunday closest to the 31st during daylight hours 3pm-6pm. Many Many years ago there was some issues with creepers so this works for us!

Re: When do you Trick Or Treat?

Our suburb and most of the city and surrounding areas do trick-or-treating on Halloween night starting at dusk. Town Hall's website would possibly have the information for your local trick-or-treat time.

Re: When do you Trick Or Treat?

Our town is usually the 30th and the next town over is the 31st. Times are published in the paper, usually 5:30-7:30.

Ours is random, this year it's the 30th. It drives me crazy that I have to look it up every year because they can't just stick to the 31st.

Re: When do you Trick Or Treat?

Always on the 31st EXCEPT the following two scenarios:

1. Halloween falls on a Sunday

2. Halloween falls on a University of Oklahoma home game

In either of those cases our city "schedules" the trick or treating in our town for either the Friday evening or Monday evening .....

I mean this IS the south - we don't mess with God and/or Football!!!!

Re: When do you Trick Or Treat?

We always T or T on the evening of the 31st. Generally after dinner, until the pumpkins are blown out. My girls are small so we start about 5:30-45 and end about 7 but we get kids at the door until nearly 9, usually.

Re: When do you Trick Or Treat?

Are you in the Twin Cities? Feel free to message me. Definitely the 31st. I've never heard of anyone doing it any other night unless there's something special at the Mall of America or something. You can go whenever you want - but generally after 5pm. You can check with your neighbors.

Ours is on the 31st, always, just as it should be. Anything else is unnatural. Not sure of the times though...probably 5-8.
