Share your chili recipe!
Cold weather means warm food - share your favorite recipe for tummy-warming chili!
Li Hing Chili
½ pound ground beef
½ pound ground pork
1 large onion, chopped
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon olive oil
1/2 tablespoon crushed dried jalapeno
2 poblano peppers, diced (may substitute 1Tbsp dried ancho)
1 teaspoon EACH kosher salt and cocoa
2 teaspoons cumin
6 whole paste tomatoes, peeled, seeded, and chopped
½ cup stout (optional)
1 can kidney beans
1 teaspoon chili pepper water
1 tablespoon li hing powder
Brown beef, pork, onions, and garlic with oil in 3-quart saucepan.
Stir in all but li hing powder and chili pepper water.
Add to slow cooker and cook on low 4-6 hours, adding final two ingredients 10 minutes before serving.
Bring to boil; reduce heat. Simmer uncovered 30 to 45 minutes, adding final two ingredients 10 minutes before serving.
