If you were going to buy a small stash...
For an almost two year old boy, what would you get and how much?
I was thinking 3 Flips covers and 18 infant prefolds... But then I was wondering if 24 would be better... My friend doesn't use cloth (she did on and off) buy her son keeps getting horrible rashes so I was thinking about getting her a small stash for he birthday. What do you think? (He's not showing any signs of PTing)

will she use cloth? I wouldn't buy any unless I was sure it get used (or at least tried) if she looking at going to cloth full time I'd do 18 prefolds and 5 covers.

I'm not sure that infant prefolds (unless possibly doubled up) would provide enough absorbency for a toddler.
I think a couple packs of these would be a great way to give cloth a try! http://www.cottonbabies.com/product_...oducts_id=2532

Re: If you were going to buy a small stash...
I will just say, if her baby is frequent pooper... 3 wont be enough. We have three flips and always end up in a different system by the end of the day because my son poops a lot. 18 prefolds is probably fine, though I might would go for flats since flips are made for trifolding.

I would definitely want more than three covers, though. I would consider six covers and eighteen inserts a minimum stash. But for a trial stash for a friend, three covers and twelve inserts would be great!

Ohh yea I missed the toddler/vs infant prefolds go for like GMD red edge or diaperites greens instead of infant size. that or flats even.

I was thinking of the prefolds and Flip covers because that's what we use. (My son will be two in a few weeks)
I find that trifolded flats in pocket diapers don't work but prefolds hold much more. And yes, she will use it if she has it. She just can't afford to purchase a stash right now. (She's used cloth in the past but couldn't build a stash so she knows what to do with them)

Re: If you were going to buy a small stash...
I would agree only get if she would use. But I would lean more towards 24. My daughter goes through the 20 plus in a week ( 17 month) but if heavy wetter one might need more or if poops lots. It also depends on if she wants to have a few til diapers dry if hang or line dry like I do on my pockets or if she is going to dryer dry dipes.

Re: If you were going to buy a small stash...
6 flips and 18 infant prefolds from cotton babies will run about $83 their are still some 4.0 up on the second sale as well.
