New to cloth diapering - bleach?

Hi, I am new to cloth diapering. I have noticed that sometimes when I sun dry the diapers smell a bit like wet dog when I take the off the line. I do not use bleach, only Charlie's soap. The smell goes away after a few hours - is this the ammonia smell everyone is talking about?

Well ammonia is when after however long (it varies) you take the diaper off baby and it is a burn your nose smell and can leave your baby a rash since its burning their skin.

It's not ammonia - trust me, you will KNOW when it's ammonia! If it smells like wet dog/barnyard/not clean, you should try adding more soap to the wash. Just be sure to check the diapers in the rinse cycle to verify that there are no more soap suds. If you still have suds, give them another rinse! HTH!

No if you had ammonia you would know. I get this smell sometimes when I line dry but not when they go in the dryer. If its happening even after the dryer or as soon as your LO soils the diaper then I would use more detergent and some bleach.

Yep it sounds like they aren't getting clean. I would add a splash of bleach to your wash routine and see if it helps.
