How much is prepping worth to you?

Prefolds and Flats require 3-5 washes to strip the cotton oils and prep for use. How much would you pay someone else to do this for you (considering time and water use?), or would you even be wiling to pay?

I've never relate thought about it being much of a hassle so I wanted to hear what otter moms think.

I probably wouldn't pay for it as I don't see it as that much of a hassle or waste. I just throw it in with whatever laundry is going. The last time I needed to prep, I threw them in with the dirty diapers that morning (2 washes), dried, then with two loads of clothes (2 washes), dried with last load of clothes, then with a load of towels (1 wash), then a hot wash by themselves and dried (1 wash). So I washed them 6 times and only washed them alone once, and I could've dropped that wash and not done them alone at all. I had a lot of laundry piled up so I did it all in one day so it's not like I had to wait to have enough laundry lol.

Nothing to me personally as I am a lazy prepper. I either wash with clothes or wash once and just change sooner. I've never seen it as a hassle.

I prefer them to be prepped and don't mind paying for the service. I generally look for used prefolds and flats for this reason. If I can't find what I am looking for used I will usually find a retailer that will prep for me.
It saves me time which is more important to me than money.

Have you found retailers who prep? Do they list a price for that component?

I might pay $5 extra any more than that and I would do it myself. I like diapers that I can use like nearly immediately. Washing once and drying is hard enough!

Zero. I don't prep my diapers.... just washed them once to get the manufacturing yuckies out them.

One sanitary wash in my FLer preps my prefolds enough to use. I wouldn't pay for the service.

Nothing. I just toss new diapers in with the old and wash. If it is hemp I make sure when I am done with diaper laundry to pull and toss back into the diaper pail for further prepping.
