Re: HS Check-In, Part 2
Good Morning mamas! Thursdays are crazy for us. We do our weekly grocery shopping and run errands today. We got our MUS in the mail yesterday and plan on doing it along with our other work today. I think its fabulous that when my dd gets home J is so excited to tell her about 'explode the code' (only he yells it) So we will finish our work this morning and after nap we will run our errands. My husband returns this evening (he works out of town M-Th) and that makes Thursdays even crazier for us! Just woke dd up for school I will be so happy if she chooses hs next year because for Jr. High the bus comes at 630 and I just dont think we can manage that! I hope all you ladies have a fantastic day! I am off to switch loads of laundry!

Re: HS Check-In, Part 2
Welcome mom1gm and Lyn!! What curriculum are you using? And to the lady who said that we are "better" (ftmom?) at this....that's probably not true. If I remember right, you are in your first year, and it does take some time to settle in. A lot of the other Mom here aren't in their first year (I'm in my second) so sometimes we may seem a bit more put together, but maybe we've just slightly improved at rolling with things? Also I'm sure it comes out more glossed over on the computer than it looks IRL. And all of us have rough days. Hang in there, and you'll be feeling better about things soon.
AFM--I'm done with homeschooling for the week!! And we finished up our HOP review and the MFW section about the scrolls and everything, so I'm looking forward to starting something new next week. DH did ask me what I wanted him to do...I told him if he felt like working with them that was fine, but if not, no sweat. Maybe this is bad...but I can't imagine the disorganization my curric will be in when I get back if they do school. Oh well, if he does it, at least I'll be able to log some hours although so far we are doing really well on hours for the week. I am going on a girly trip to Branson with some family and friends this weekend, and I'm super excited about it, but I'm the kind of Mom who leaves the kids almost never, so I'm sure it will be hard in a way too. Hope everyone has a great weekend! |

Re: HS Check-In, Part 2
We didn't get much done so far today. DH was home this morning, which is not his usual schedule and he played a game with the kids so I was trying to get caught up on laundry. Then the dog came in smelling awful because she had rolled in something! So I had to try and spot clean her since it's too cold out for a whole bath, which made more stinky laundry. Lol! Then another homeschooling friend stopped by and blessed us with some boy clothes and shoes! Since I already had clean laundry sorted all over the couch we went ahead and looked through it all and separated it into the boys piles. I won't have to buy clothes for them for at least a year, maybe even two! I finally got the two youngest down for naps so maybe we can get something done now. Hope you are all having a good Thursday!

![]() AFM: We got a full day in! DD1 is totally caught up and DD2 is only one math lesson behind for the week. Since we usually don't do math on Fridays, she'll make it up tomorrow. It amazes me what DD2 can do when she actually quits complaining/goofing around/getting distracted and does the work. She did 2 math lessons, read the entire 3 part illustrated Epic of Gilgamesh, a book on photosynthesis, revised her paragraph from the grammar book and played 2 spelling games. She did all this from 9-11, and she did it well. I only wish I could show her how her day would be improved if she worked hard for a little while and could have more free time (without me on her back).

Re: HS Check-In, Part 2
We are moving? Hi everyone.
![]() I recently failed my one hour glucose test (pregnant), so just went back for three hour today... I've been bummed and worried about what might happen, so that's why I haven't been posting.

Re: HS Check-In, Part 2
Well, we got our MUS yesterday. He loved it! He did three pages. He is struggling with the m's on Explode the code A, so I think I will bookmark that page and move on to the next letter. He can write an 'm' but it doesnt exactly look like it should and it frustrates him to no end. So, we will return to that page! We are ahead for the week which is a shock to me since all of us were sick and I didnt think we would accomplish anything.
After class this morning we are planning on hitting the library, then to volunteer at a food pantry for an hour or so. Have a fantastic day mamas!

Re: HS Check-In, Part 2
Thank you so much for the prayers....! I really appreciate it.
![]() We are taking homeschooling slowly here. Somedays we use curriculum, somedays we use clever-dragons.com, somedays we play with educational games, somedays, we take breaks. Most days, my husband has been teaching Bible and science. We are starting off slowly again. This morning, so far, girls are playing with toys, my son is playing with educational game. I figure I will get back to more of a routine once the baby is born and we establish a new "routine" like thing (LOL) with the new addition to the family. I am also working on selling used clothe and other items to save at least about $60? or so for my daughter's used L.A. curriculum from A beka. Hopfully I can raise that money by the time baby is born. (I am also saving for the baby, my haircut, my contact lends too, so that might take a while. )
