Woah I think he's ready

and I wasn't expecting it so soon.

DS1 just turned 2 a couple weeks ago and I've been thinking about getting him a potty soon bc he really likes to have naked time. Thing is, he's not very verbal yet and only says maybe 10 words, though he understands almost everything.

Well, yesterday morning dh's back was really sore and he couldn't bend over to change his diaper so he let it go for a little while until the advil kicked in. Well in that time ds tried to use the potty. He unzipped his sleeper, pulled his diaper down and stood right up against the toilet and peed. I mean he totally got the front of his sleeper all wet bc he isn't tall enough, but hey he gets the idea and he was completely unprompted.

So now I guess we need to get him a stool and a potty. Is there anything we should be specifically doing? I guess just encourage him... Are there any good books anyone can recommend? This is all very exciting.

How sweet! You MUST have done the potty dance! Unprompted!

I just posted this before I read your OP. Since he's showing such eagerness...I think you have it easier.
All those crunchy things and more Amma to DS1(9.2007) and DS2(1.2011)
