With the risk of MRSA nowadays, not to mention my terrible case as a child (had to be hospitalized-I had them everywhere: inside my eyelids, down my ear canals, in my genitals) I didn't want to risk that with my kids.
Most people won't have that bad of an issue, obviously. Just sharing my reasoning.

I would get the vaccine. Chicken pox sucks, and IMO, there's no reason to spend a week or more miserable unnecessarily. Negative side effects of the vaccine are incredibly rare, and with MRSA so common, I wouldn't risk it. I acutely remember at age 5 how god-awful sick I was, and I wish that the vaccine had been available then.

I had the pox as a child, and still have immunity....according to a titer test. I have also read that the vaccine is one of the least effective, and of course like all vaccines, is full of toxins.
