Re: Keeping emergency diapers in the car?

Thanks for the diaper bag idea! It's better than having them lose, resulting in dirty or lost items :-)

TrennaII- love your improvisions :-) It's amazing what we can come up with when we have to :-))

Re: Keeping emergency diapers in the car?

I always have my diaper bag with me (it's my purse too at the moment) but the little extra diaper bag in the car idea is great, especially if I would have to leave unexpectedly and the diaper bag wasn't ready. I also REALLY like the idea of keeping flats in the car...these could be used for so many things...diapers, wipes, towels, blankets, even a little picnic seat/table cloth.

I'm going to start keeping some in there with either a OS cover or maybe just some dappi pants. I've had my share of kiddos getting sick in the car and flats would have been great.

I'm also going to start keeping a wet bag in the car...I think that is what I forget the most!

Re: Keeping emergency diapers in the car?

I keep a diaper bag in the car. And I have spare dipes in a bin (van) along with flats, bandanas, and wipes. Aparently i'm extra nuts because i also put in a dollar store fleece blanket, 2 dollar store kitchen towels, and diaper pins. To be used in an super emergency. I figure the blanket and towels can always be used for something else if needed.

Re: Keeping emergency diapers in the car?

After reading this thread, I plan to keep our 6 swaddlebee flats and a couple of flips in the car!
I've found myself without diapers more than once but never wanted to leave diaper in the car because it gets 100+ degrees a lot where I'm from.
We are now in the northern part of the country so I'm not so worried about the heat!

Maybe fleece would be a good type of cover that wouldn't get ruined so much from the changing temperatures.

Re: Keeping emergency diapers in the car?

I don't have a car stash. But after reading this thread I know just the ones I want in the car. I have 6 swaddlebees flats and an upcycled wool cover(no elastic) I don't like. They will be perfect for that purpose. I also have a drawstring wet bag I don't like to use. I won't miss it in our regular stash.

The fleece is a great idea. A pair of fleece blanket pjs in the winter would do double duty as extra clothes and a diaper cover. A few days ago I forgot to put my sons soaker on him. We mainly use shorties or longies so no need to put anything over it. This night I was using the fleece blanket pjs. In the morning the bed was dry and so was I. I went to change his morning diaper only to realize he had on no diaper cover.
