I did slam on my brakes really hard. I am 23 weeks, 3 days pregnant. I was going 65 mph and getting into the exit lane for a major intersection. You can't see it until you get over a hill. I saw brake lights, but I didn't think he had completely stopped. I was so scared of hitting him.
I didn't hit the other car, but all the stuff in my passenger seat went flying to the floor. I drive a '04 Mustang. My unborn child is kicking me a lot right now, and usually he isn't this active. He's a calm kid. ![]() My main question is should I go to the doctor tomorrow? Is there anything they can do? I was worried until he started kicking me, but I still am kinda worried something would make it all bad...

I would def give the doc a call if you are worried. Maybe even tonight if they have an on call nurse. Its probably just your nerves and baby is reacting to that or it woke him up, but if you are concerned I say its worth a phone call!

I agree that the baby is most likely reacting to your stress level. It is totally fine to give your doc or midwife a call, it will give you peace of mind and then the baby will calm down. Sorry that happened mama, that must have been really scary!

Re: I wasn't in an accident but...
I think you could call just for your own peace of mind. But I bet the baby is just fine. We were in a full on accident when I was about that far along with DS3. Air bags deployed and the car was totaled, but the unborn baby was perfectly fine. They are well protected in there.

I don't think I going to call because I feel better. He is more active which makes me feel good. Maybe he's mad at me....lol
Sent from my Inspire. Hope everything makes sense!

mama.I think everything is probably fine, esp since you weren't ACTUALLY in an accident. I rode a roller coaster pregnant. And everything was fine with that baby. I also almost got plowed into by a semi truck and had a similar fast-hard-breaking experience, which left me totally rattled... I must've cried for a good solid 10 mins after that one. Again, baby was fine. I also fell with 2 of my pregnancies - once down some steps. Everything was fine. ... Never got checked out for any of them b/c I felt the baby moving and wasn't leaking any fluid. Humans and babies are much tougher than we think sometimes. ![]() I'm glad you are feeling better!

Re: I wasn't in an accident but...
I was rear ended in my second pregnancy. My OB said as.long as baby is moving you should be fine. I never even went in to the office. In fact, the only reason I even called was because my mom and dh kept bugging me to. She was totally fine.
